ghd: The Chronos launch

A launch night in Stockholm, out as a film a week later.

The job

On 7 February 2024 ghd launched its new styler, Chronos, with an evening in Stockholm: a stage show, hair stylists at work and a full room of guests. We were to capture the evening so it could be shown to everyone who was not there.

How we did it

An event film lives on its details. We filmed the show on stage, but just as much the hands in the hair, the laughter at the tables and the light in the room. The film was cut in two formats, one landscape and one portrait for social media, and a week after the event ghd had the finished film.

What came next

The same summer we went with ghd and Sebastian Professional to Way Out West in Gothenburg, and photographed and filmed their presence during the festival.

Common questions

What does a commercial cost?

It depends on the job. With us, an animation, a 3D product image or a short clip starts at SEK 10,000, a shoot day or a 3D film at SEK 40,000, and a campaign with several films and images at SEK 65,000. You always get a fixed price before we begin.

How long does it take?

The smallest jobs, an animation or a short clip, take about two working days. Bigger films and campaigns we plan together with you, and you get a schedule with the quote. When it is urgent it goes fast: the Nordic Star Cup aftermovie was done two days after the final whistle.

Are you an advertising agency or a production company?

Both. We work out the strategy and the idea and make the film with the same team, under one roof in Stockholm. So nothing gets lost between the pitch and the film.

Do you do 3D, CGI and VFX?

Yes, it is a big part of what we do: products in 3D, whole worlds and effects in film. The hologram in Celsius Cosmic Vibe was built entirely in 3D, and the mountain in the Lundhags film is 3D, while the winter was a pile of snow in a studio.

Do you make social media content on an ongoing basis?

Yes. Besides one-off orders we do recurring work: a creative plan and a team that makes new ads and new content month after month, as we do for Celsius.

Where are you, and who have you worked with?

Our office is at Krukmakargatan 44 in Stockholm. We have made ads, campaigns and films for Celsius, Lyko, Xpeng, Lundhags, Actic, Volvo, We Effect, The Humble Co and MrCake, among others.

What do we need to have ready before we get in touch?

Nothing more than what you want to achieve. Tell us what you need, where it will run and when it has to be done, and we take it from there. Nothing is binding.
